VADA/Nova In Hand/Breed Show Awards
For 2012

Method for calculating awards

All awards will be calculated by adding the horse scores together and then dividing by the total number of scores to
result in an average score. The awards year will run from December 1, 2011—November 30, 2012. Ribbons will be
awarded at for all in hand/breed show classes combined (young horse, mature mare, mature stallion).

General Requirements:

  • The owner must be a member of VADA/Nova at the time the score is earned. (You may join VADA/Nova at any
time: arrival at show, or send to the Show Secretary with your entry.)
  • If a class has been scored by more than one judge, the combined average score as calculated at the show will
count. The scores MAY NOT be counted individually.
  • Class may be open or IBC
  • Materiale and other under saddle classes do not count toward this award.
  • Amateur handler scores will not count toward this award.

Young Horse, Mature Mare and Mature Stallion

  • Two (2) scores, by the same horse
  • One (1) of the scores must be earned at a VADA/Nova breed show (8/11 or 8/12)

Volunteer Requirements

  • Twelve (12) hours of volunteering at a VADA/Nova event (licensed show, schooling show, clinic, etc.) is required.
  • If a rider submits for awards with multiple horses, it still requires only 12 hours of volunteering.
  • The 12 hours may be earned by the rider, horse owner, family member or friend
  • There will be no exceptions to this requirement.
  • Note that volunteer time provided to listed shows or other non-VADA/Nova events will not count.
