VADA/Nova Licensed Show Chapter Awards
For 2008

Definitions

  • A VADA/Nova licensed show is a show organized and operated by VADA/Nova
  • A Listed licensed show is a show organized and operated by an individual and/or organization other than VADA/Nova, but which has paid a fee to VADA/Nova for show information to be publicized on the website, in the newsletter, and in various directories.
  • For a specific list see General Information.

Method for calculating awards

All awards will be calculated by adding the horse/rider scores together at each level and then dividing by the total number of tests ridden to result in an average score. The awards year will run from December 1, 2007 — November 30, 2008. Ribbons will be awarded at each level (levels may be combined for Freestyles), divided into Junior (rider 21 or under as of Jan. 1, 2008) and Senior.

VADA/Nova Chapter Award Requirements:

General Requirements for USA EQ/USDF Licensed Shows

  • Each horse/rider combination must be a member of VADA/Nova at the time the score is earned. (You may join VADA/Nova at any time: arrival at show, or send to the Show Secretary with your entry.)
  • If a test has been scored by more than one judge (eg. judge at C and E), the combined average score as calculated at the show will count. The tests MAY NOT be counted individually.

Training through Fourth Level

  • Six (6) scores all at the same level from tests ridden by same horse/rider pair
  • Scores must be 55% or greater
  • One (1) score must be from the highest test of the level
  • Three (3) of the scores must be earned at VADA/Nova licensed shows
  • Remaining three (3) scores can come from any USEF/USDF licensed Show that is open to all breeds

FEI Levels, Para-Equestrian and Musical Freestyles
(including FEI test for 4, 5 & 6 year olds):

  • Four (4) scores all at the same level from tests ridden by same horse/rider pair
  • Scores must be 55% or greater
  • Two (2) of the scores must be earned at VADA/Nova licensed shows
  • Remaining two (2) scores can come from any licensed show that is judged by a USEF r, R, or S judge.

Volunteer Requirements

  • One full day of volunteering at a VADA/Nova event (licensed show, schooling show, clinic, etc.) is required. This can be earned as two half days or one full day.
  • This day may be earned by the rider, horse owner, family member or friend
  • There will be no exceptions to this requirement.
  • Note that volunteer time provided to listed shows or other non-VADA/Nova events will not count.
